If I had a flower for every time
I thought of you,
I could walk in my garden forever’.
– Alfred Lord Tennyson

Cassia & Levon got married at The Armenian Church in Melbourne & approached me only 6 months before their wedding date – we met online for a quick chat and instantly clicked. They were telling me about their plans, and the most exciting part for them, was their ceremony. They were getting married in Melbournes only Apostolic Armenian Church, and Lev said it had beautiful light, no matter the time of day. That always gets a photographer really excited! After we met up for a dinner, we got to know each other more and I realised that to them…

The most important part of their wedding was spending time with their closest friends and each other.

Fast forward to April 2024, they wed under the magical voices of the choir, surrounded by 70 of their closest family and friends. It was captivating, beautiful and divine. Wedding vendors included a custom wedding dress by Romeo Bastone Couture, Your Only Films, Jimmy Choo heels, Makeup By Katerina and the lovely winery venue of Riverlea Estate. The nerves started to kick in for both Lev & Cass as they waited for guests to fill the Church. Leading up to the Ceremony, they were happy, cool, relaxed. They each had a moment of release, and were ready to see each other down the aisle. I didn’t know, but the Groom meets the Bride halfway down the aisle and reveals her veil – it was a lovely touch to the Armenian Ceremony. The priest and choir were divine, with the three ladies singing in absolute synchronicity, their voices etched in my mind. The Bride & Groom wore Crowns as they were declared Husband & Wife, a sacred part of the Ceremony.

Cass & Lev opted for a few DIY elements that elevated the story behind their love.

We had so much fun documenting this day, we also shot some 35mm film on the day, feel free to read this blog post if you’re interested in 35mm film. Something incredibly lovely was that Cass & Lev did a lot of things on their own, including their stunning Welcome Sign, and Tree for guests to stamp their thumbprints on. Levon drew this himself, and Cass created the Welcome Sign with inspiration from Tik Tok. Levon’s sister created the stunning Floral Cake Decoration made from baby Breath which was another personalised element, Cassia created home made pesto as guests’ bombonieres. These cute and personal touches really stand out to the overall experience for your guests and yourselves, to remember for the years to come!
