Vogue Australia – Ying & Michael
Ying & Michael’s Wedding was featured in Vogue. It was one of the first weddings I ever photographed! I was studying my BA of Photography a Photography Studies College in Melbourne and met my lecturer Ying Ang. She was getting married to Michael, and I photographed their engagement party. It was held at Recoleta and Ying proposed to Michael and they shared the exciting news with all of their friends over dinner. A year or so later, I graduated from my BA and Ying & Michael started planning their wedding. It was going to be epic, with incredible vendors such as Cecilia Fox & Chosen by Kyha involved. They had a morning ceremony held at the Fitzroy Gardens across the road from their home, it was whimsical, relaxed and had magical light, they wed on the steps early in the morning in summer. A month later, they celebrated with all of their friends and family at The Melbourne Town Hall… You can see their wedding on my blog here.
Hannah & Jordan – Ivory Tribe
Hannah & Jordans Wedding was in 2017 and it was one of the first weddings that I photographed that was featured! I felt like it was a pivotal point in my creative work as well, as I had done a workshop the month before their special day that changed my mindset and approach to weddings. It was also the first that I booked at a rate I was proud of charging. Hannah and Jordan got married at Carousel in Albert Park, which is a stunning venue for larger weddings. Managed by Food & Desire, they opted for a date in September and the weather was phenomenal for us. We even captured an incredible sunset and had a ball the whole time! You can see their wedding on my blog here. I worked alongside Iconic Pictures & Films, Martina Liana, Jukebox Dynamite & House of Bloss.
Tricia & Hieu – Carats & Cake & Together Journal
Tricia & Hieus wedding was featured in Carats & Cake as well as Together Journal! You can see the Together Journal Feature here. It was at one of my favourite Melbourne Wedding Venues: Rupert on Rupert in Collingwood. It is known for it’s beautiful and stylish greenery, warehouse vibes, and is the perfect place for a Wedding Ceremony, Reception and Party! You can look at another Rupert Wedding here.
They did things so differently and ahead of the trends! In lieu of written placecards, Jordi from Doodleism illustrated each guest ahead of time and printed them out. Their beautiful and personalised invitations were done by Xinnie from X spots the mark and letter pressed with holographic foil by Hungry Workshop, and then placed in a holographic envelope with custom lettering by The Letterettes. The Letterettes on the day personalised wedding favours for all of the guests, and Jeff The Peff live sketched on the day as a wedding gift to themselves! I just adored this couple, this day & the photos we created.
Their florist, Georgia Powell – created a sweeping ribbon of flowers that would start from the entrance, sweeping through the dining area, looping over the beams before ending at the bar canopy. It created a massive trend at Rupert on Rupert, with many weddings to follow suit the idea that Georgia for Tricia and Hieu. Have a look at some of the magic below with their larger gallery here.
Steph & Nick – Hello May
Sweethearts Steph and Nick had been together for 5 years when they decided to tie the knot. Inspired by the coastal vibes of their holiday home in Aireys Inlet, the couple opted for the comfort of their favourite local restaurant for their wedding day festivities. Aside from the bride’s golden gown, the florals definitely stole the day at these nuptials. I loved being a part of this day, as Ying & Michael were guests and one of Steph & Nicks friends. We had a lot of fun on this dreamy and whimsical March Day at Airleys Inlet. It was featured widely at Hello May Magazine, and Steph’s flowers by Babiana Botanic were in the 2019 top 10. Ying Ang photographed Steph & Nicks Wedding Invite, with the location & cuisine by Le Grecque. You can see their full gallery here.
Steph’s Gold dress was such an inspiration and she looked divine. She got it from Net a Porter and it’s a design by Jenny Packman. Her rings are Lucy Folk and she wore Prada shoes. All in all, she was a whimsical visionaire and I adore looking back at their gallery so much.
