On Thursday at Firecracker Event Blossom Daisy Creative, Ruby & James and Tweed Twigs collaborated to host a Creative Masterclass called ‘Only Stories’. Over snacks, dinner and drinks, we spoke about our creative practices and how we create stories within our work to to draw the right clients, people and projects. For me personally, I elaborated on one of my ongoing personal projects that I have been working on for close to a decade. I decided to keep it analog, and print out images of the body of work and present it on the night, highlighting the back story, how I think and feel about creating work that is personal and where the ideas come from.
Graham of Tweed Twigs showcased his personal cultural weaving and the flow state he finds himself in when creating briefs and floral installations. Hid juggling act of being an architect and a florist and how he enjoys doing both, finding moments of fulfilment and clarity while in the office. The attendees got the opportunity to try weaving for themselves which everyone loved. Jessie of Ruby & James showcased her creative process when it came to thinking of a brief for the night in regards to styling. Discussing how difficult it was to find a brief with no direction or input from clients, she pin pointed a piece pf furniture at Firecracker HQ that inspired her colour palette and concept. All in all, we had so much fun putting together a creative night for our industry peers, and we hope to host more to showcase and dive deeper into this story of creative thinking & storytelling.
We created incredible night for our attendees and we felt like we have created a safe creative space & community for our industry. To our attendees, thank you so much forsupporitng our first Masterclass! Without you it would not have happened and been such a success.
