The minute I heard my first love story,
I started looking for you, not knowing
how blind that was.
Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere,
they’re in each other all along.
— Rumi

Elena & Sotiri wed at Point Nepean National Park in Portsea under the summer stars at the start of February. Magical weather, an epic sunset, and a ceremony overlooking the bay, everything was perfect for this lovely duo, and I won’t forget their kindness. It was post pandemic times, and I was also a brand new mum.

Elena and Sotiri chose their wedding date around my availability post maternity leave, which was 10 weeks after Luca was born. New mothers need support and love, and I was so grateful that these two gave that to me at my first wedding back in action <3

Florals by the best Poppy Culture, Celebrant duties by Shannon Jeans, Styling by Pop up with Style, cake by the incredible Torte by Mirjana and Photography by Blossom Daisy Creative (us) of course. They chose Point Nepean National Park as they adore the Mornington Peninsula and ideally, wanted a wedding in idyllic Greece or Cyprus. Due to travel restrictions, these plans changed and they decided on Portsea to replicate the endless hues of blues. I was luck enough to meet Sotiri & Elena at their engagement party a year earlier, almost to the day. We had so much fun at Alatoro in McCrae, and I knew from the moment we met we’d have a ball!

They opted for a ‘first look’ and we did this at their preparation ‘Hart’s Farm’ in Red Hill. This worked out well, as afterward we travelled to Portsea. Choosing not to have a bridal party gave us a lot of wiggle room for the runsheet, and they had a lot of downtime together before the ceremony. Elena had her dad do her hair, and she also had an attachment to her dress which she added on for a glam look at the ceremony. I adored her second look, it elevated everything. After the ceremony, we took this off so Elena & Sotiri could enjoy an entry at the reception. Post sunset, Elena chose to change into a summer-y linen dress so she could Greek-Dance the night away!

An epic party, with lots of Greek and Cypriot Dancing under the moon and the stars. I remember the night being so clear and crisp, being in the Point Nepean National Park in Portsea, there is no light pollution, no noise, just the bush, the sea and the stars.
