35mm film is a beautiful addition to your Wedding Gallery, in 2023 I decided to include it in my Wedding Photography Services. I am a Wedding Photographer in Melbourne, but first and foremost I am a creative fine art photographer, and I learnt my style at university when I gained a BA of Photography. I spent so much time in the darkroom processing film, and over the years I have built up an analogue camera collection with 35mm and 120mm film cameras. Are you a lover of 35mm Film? Isabella & Michael were the most down to earth and in love couple. They were all about their family & friends, they didn’t want much time away from their bridal parties, this was the key to their day. It included when Isa got ready in her dress, when Mike got into his tuxedo, going off for portraits, photos in the bridal suite, partying and dancing non-stop! These decisions were made and were pivotal to telling their story.
Isa & Mike decided early on that they wanted to add a couple of rolls of film. Initially I was going to be shooting on my Medium Format camera, but the week before their Wedding, the battery pack broke!!! Luckily I had my trusty point and shoot camera ready, and it was for the better. This was the best mistake to happen, as it really suited the essence of Isa & Mikes day. Shooting rolls of Film on your Wedding Day is such a privilege for me, I enjoy capturing these moments and the vulnerability in them. I hope it shows in the gallery. That’s the beauty of film: there’s no retouching or massive amounts of colour grading involved in the post production process.
The moments are as real as they can get. I decided to include 3 rolls of film in all my photography packages in 2024 onwards. All of my couples love it, and I enjoy documenting parts of the day knowing the outcome is unknown, classic and fun!
The film analogue images are processed at Hillvale Photo Lab in Brunswick Melbourne, they arrive in your Wedding Gallery in Print Resolution (in 8×10″ size) so you can download and print them as you wish. There are 3 rolls of film included in all of my Photography Packages in 2024/25 – an added bonus to all couples working with me. It’s been an amazing addition to my services to far with all couples loving it.
I document all parts of the day in film, alongside digital photography, so you get a nice glimpse of your day in both. There are approximately 37 exposures per roll that you will receive, I shoot on Kodak Portra 400 film which I find to be the most to my style, and works nicely with my cameras and the digital gallery.

Below is a glimpse of another Wedding Gallery shot on 35mm Film. Levon & Cassia got married this year in April and it was a wonderful celebration of their 10 year long love story. The images at the Armenian Church in Melbourne were stunning. You can see the images are nostalgic, timeless and untouched. Film is not retouched or edited as it looks incredible as it is!
